Noble Gases

O, noble gases uninvolved, inert --
You do not love, nor lose, nor hate, nor hurt;

By you no other element inspired,
In you no other element desired,

Teach us, noble gases, not to love --
Not to put a hand in every glove,

Not to thrust our selves in every forum
Where our very natures serve to bore 'em.

What peacefulness is calmly lit by neon
When no Antigone defies no Creon!

And if your blank blonde blandness blurs our wits,
At least you never blow a bus to bits.

Secret Sauce

If someone were to ask me "What's the best way to succeed?"
I'd answer: "Give them what they want instead of what they need."
And give it to them quickly -- charge a premium for speed --
And when in doubt recite this short example from my creed:

Selling is the subtle science:
Never lie to any clients --
Nonetheless, you're wise to keep them guessing.
Lying leaves your clients cross
But remember:  "Secret Sauce"
Is really only Thousand Island Dressing.

When I am asked by others should they add a little bit
Beyond whatever's really true, I'm not a hypocrite;
I tell them "Tell the truth!" because it's wrong to counterfeit --
The truth is in the trick of knowing what you may omit.

Selling is the subtle science:
Never lie to any clients --
Nonetheless, you're wise to keep them guessing.
Lying leaves your clients cross
But remember:  "Secret Sauce"
Is really only Thousand Island Dressing.
