A Note from the Fiction Editor

As a perhaps undeserved gift upon my return to Melic, I found an inbox full of very good fiction. Alas, this treat made my job especially difficult. It also made it very gratifying. So thank you all for some good reading.

This issue includes a most unusual and lyrical story about a suicide, a charming and satiric trek to enlightenment, an angry, tender fable about survival and loss and a vivid minimalist portrait of a relationship. Read and enjoy!
